Petroc Creative Students’ Spectacular Showcase

ÐÇ¿Õ´«Ã½ recently hosted an impressive Creative Industries Event that brought together the exceptional talents of our music, performing arts, creative media, and art students. The event was a spectacular showcase of end-of-year work, highlighting the innovation and creativity flourishing within our college.

The campus was transformed into a lively carnival, complete with food vans and a variety of entertainment provided by the students themselves. The atmosphere was filled with excitement and a great buzz, reflecting the outstanding work on display.

The made a welcomed return to the event, once again on site to select a winner from our talented art students. We are thrilled to announce that Moon Hawkins is the recipient of this year’s Burton Gallery Prize, awarded a £50 voucher. Moon’s winning piece was a stunning collection of figurative lino prints on red, black, and white cards, representing the female form and gaze.

The art exhibition was a feast for the eyes, featuring a diverse array of works ranging from video animation and fashion design to illustration and painting. This variety not only showcased the breadth of skills our students possess but also the depth of their creativity.

The Creative Industries staff team were full of pride and enthusiasm for the event’s success. Bridgett Scott, Lecturer in Art & Design, shared her thoughts: “We are so proud of our students and what they have achieved. The exhibition is so exciting and relevant. Our students will go on to achieve so much and put so much into this amazing industry. They are truly talented.”

The art exhibition will remain open for the next few weeks, offering an extended opportunity for the public to witness the incredible talent and hard work of our students.
